Five people were taken to hospital following the collision, which happened at around 12.15pm on Friday, 16 October, between Broughton and Blyth Bridge.
The crash involved a white Seat Leon, a black Audi Q5 and a red Jaguar F-Pace.
A 10-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the Seat Leon, was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
The male drivers of the Seat Leon and Jaguar F-Pace were also hospitalised with serious injuries. A teenage boy travelling in the Seat Leon and a woman who was a passenger in the Audi Q5 were also taken to hospital for treatment.
Emergency services attended the scene, and the road was closed for almost seven hours while police carried out investigations. It reopened at approximately 7.10pm.
Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit is now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, or saw the vehicles prior, and has yet to speak to officers to come forward with any information that could assist with our investigation. I’d also ask that those driving in the area at the time with dash-cam footage review this to see if it has captured anything of significance.”
